Action Items from ARIES Project Meeting, 26 January 2011
(Tabulated by L. Waganer)

Les WPrepare position paper comparing ITER and ARIES design costs and rational for differences between first and 10th of a kind
Les WVerify bismuth content in lead purchase quote
Siegfried/SaidProvide a contact or cost data about enriched LiPb, preferably a graph of cost data versus enrichment. Can they also provide cost data on enriched lithium?
Les WInvestigate the process of forming a LiPb eutectic- is it difficult to make/mix or costly?
Xueren WEstimate algorithms for volume and mass of support structure, Acct 22.05. Suggest defining 22.05.01 Carry-through structure, 22.05.02 Shield Pedestal and 22.05.03 Equipment Support Structure. The latter may need to be a percentage of Carry Through Structure (Check with Les W)
Les WExplain and resolve new Indirect Cost Algorithms with latest code results
Lane CAdd Divertor thickness data, see Laila’s chart 21
Lane/XuerenProvide correct FW and divertor surface areas, see Laila’s chart 23
Lane, etc
Adopt a nominal SOL of 10 cm in all codec, CAD, and analyses pending better data
Laila EEstimate decommissioning costs
Laila EEstimate absolute or incremental costs for nuclear-grade and safety-related components
Lane CContinue to update systems code output table to show all influential parameters
Lane CCheck number, volume and cost of PF coils, including spares. Label PF coils to indicate these are "theoretical" or something to show preliminary
Chuck KCheck with Charlie Neumeyer on ITER Cryo Power Level
Lane/Laila/SaidAdopt 50 MW for Aux Power unless a more detailed estimate of aux power is determined. We should clearly identify what powers are included in Paux. (Les W is forwarding the detailed Aux Power definition from Prometheus and Laila & Chuck are forwarding the detailed Aux Power definition from ITER).
Lane CCalculate theoretical NWL at plasma facing surface (10 cm from plasma surface). Clearly identify NWL result in code (not at FW). Name should be more descriptive.
Lane CClarify in output file that operating heating and CD powers are steady state, not including start-up capability.
Mark/LaneIdentify and display pumping power for He in divertor and blanket structure and LiPb in Blanket. Would be helpful to also provide heat removal capability for each coolant media.
Mark/SaidCorrelate GT and UCSD thermal modeling and predicted results for the considered divertor designs
AllNeed to provide immediate code inputs to Lane C in 2 weeks (2/9/2011) so code results can be distributed in three weeks (2/16/2011)
Laila E.Verify correctness of NWL data values for end points of FW and start points of divertor
Chuck/Xueren/SiegfriedIs there any benefit/detriment in increasing the radius of the inboard upper and lower FW to be conformal to the Plasma + SOL as Laila proposed? E.g, increased room for manifolds
Mark TConsider using helium-driven turbine compressors in the Brayton cycle as opposed to motor-driven compressors
Jeremy BSuggest increasing the temperature of the W structure to 1300°ºC in the case of VM tungsten (vacuum metalized).
Dara NInvestigate if there is an error in the pressures shown for the test sample on page 8 of your presentation.
