Guidelines for Manuscripts
Manuscript Preparation
Prepare your paper as described in the guidelines mailed to authors. The
guidelines include a formatted example manuscript.
LaTeX templates and copyright info are available at the
IEEE Web site.
Example files are available here for MS Word 5.1
(for Mac) or MS Word 6 for Windows or Mac. Note:
your browser should recognize the extensions ".doc" and ".word" as MS Word
files in order to download properly. If for any reason you are unable to
download and open these, please use the hardcopy examples.
Contributed papers are limited to four pages, invited papers are limited to six
pages, and plenary papers to eight pages. If a paper exceeds these limits, the
author must pay $200 per page for each additional partial or full page before
the paper can be accepted. Payment is due in U.S. dollars by cash, check drawn
on a U.S. bank, credit card (Discover, American Express, Diners, Visa, or
Mastercard) or international wire transfer. Checks should be payable to
IEEE/NPSS SOFE97.
What to Bring to the Symposium
Bring the original and two photocopies of your camera-ready paper, the
completed copyright form, and sufficient funds to pay any excess page
charges. Take the manuscript to the Publication Desk at the symposium before
12 noon, Thursday, October 9. Your paper will be checked for all requirements,
indexed, and a receipt will be issued to you. If you are unable to attend, a
colleague may bring your paper for you; be sure to include the two photocopies,
copyright form, and any necessary page charges.
If you plan to distribute copies of your paper at the symposium, bring
sufficient copies with you as there is limited copy service at the hotel.
