SST-1 - An Overview The Steady State Tokamak (SST-1) program will be overviewed. The physics objectives of SST-1 are two-fold: firstly, to operate highly shaped, double-null diverted plasmas with non-inductive current-drive, with and without advanced confinement modes; and secondly achievement of good performance simultaneously in steady-state operation. Technology objectives of SST-1 are to learn and get expertise in high technology areas like superconducting magnets, cryogenics, Neutral Beam Injection and high power RF-systems. Present status of the various systems will be discussed.
