Motion Sensors were installed on TFTR during the last 2 years of the D-T experimental run. The motion sensors were installed on the TF coils, TF water fittings, TF coil lead blocks and the vacuum vessel. The sensors measured the horizontal, vertical and inward displacements of the TF coil and the vessel at various locations around the periphery of TFTR. These measurements were taken during both plasma shots and disruptions. Designs were developed for the supports and mounts for the various configurations of sensors. Procedures were developed and utilized to ensure guidelines were met during their installation and are included as part of this paper. Results of the displacements are compared with theoretical predictions.
