DOE Cancels Aug 4-5 FESAC Meeting
July 31, 2008
The scheduled August 4-5 public meeting of the U.S. Department of Energy
Fusion Energy Sciences Advisory Committee (FESAC) has been cancelled. The
reason given is that several of the members would be unable to attend and
that the DOE approval process for five proposed new members would not be
completed in time for the meeting.
In addition, it was learned that DOE rules require the current chairman,
Stewart Prager (U. Wisconsin) to step down in light of his plans to become
Director of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory in the Fall.
